Answering Difficult Interview Questions [VIDEO]

๐ŸŒŸ

๐ŸŒŸ
Difficult questions are more common in some medical schools than others (for example, they're very common in Oxbridge). Similar to when answering ethical questions, the interviewers may not always be looking for a definitive answer but rather they're much more interested in hearing about your methodology to answering such a question (e.g. how many planes are there above London right now?). This video features a group of different medical students talking about the hardest questions they were asked during their application process.

EVENT OF THE WEEK

OUR MISSION

To empower every aspiring doctor with all the best tools they need to succeed, irrespective of their socioeconomic or ethnic background.
Getting into medical school is hard.

In addition, the application process has been over-complicated, with the admission sector quickly filling up with what seems like an endless number of courses and resources - often charging extortionate amounts.

At Medmentor, we want to change that.

We're on a mission to make applying to Medicine simpler.

Not everyone has an older mentor when applying to Medicine ... but this can make all the difference. In the past, those without a guide or mentor would frequently fall behind and quickly become disadvantaged. We're keen to remove the disadvantages that exist to ensure that every single aspiring medic is aware of and has access to everything they need to succeed.

That's why we've created this website, a virtual mentor, the number one go-to site for aspiring medics. Our all-in-one platform will direct you to everything you need to get into medical school in the UK.

We've put all the tools you need in one place. The rest is down to you!

HUZAIFAH JEARALLY - CO-FOUNDER

I'm a medical student studying at University College London (currently in my 3rd year). I have a passion for innovation and new ideas. Some of the things this has driven me to do are: getting involved in science research, running a range of tech conferences, dabbling in programming, being an ambassador of medical technology and keeping up with the startup scene in London. I'm a full-stack developer and love to build things in my spare time! I'm hoping to bringing innovation and technology to empower future aspiring medics.

SARA MEMON - SENIOR MEDMENTOR

I'm a 5th year medical student at University College London, previously having completed an iBSc Neuroscience degree. I'm currently working in a world-class lab which focusses on the development of the feeling of painful sensations in newborn babies! I'm also the co-founder of a student-run medical association where we work closely with doctors to provide medical students with the tools and resources they need in their careers. As part of Medmentor, Iโ€™m hoping to give back by helping others achieve their dreams.

ABDALLAH ABBAS - SENIOR MEDMENTOR

Iโ€™m heading into my 3rd year of Medicine at UCL, where Iโ€™ll be undertaking an intercalated BSc in Mathematics, Computers And Medicine. I've completed a research internship at the UCL Cancer Institute which saw me present work at a national conference hosted by the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM). I'm about to embark on a research project at Moorfields that uses state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop diagnostic & prognostic tools. I'm looking forward to bringing valuable tools to the fingertips of all aspiring medics.
